About Alicia Snow, APRN-FNP

What started as a childhood interest in healing grew into a collegiate minor in alternative health studies, then into apprenticeships in homeopathy, western herbalism and Rolfing therapy. In her twenties, she ran a grant-driven peer education project that provided HIV/hepatitis prevention outreach within the Maine State Prison, while simultaneously studying herbalism at Avena Botanicals and completing a two-year certification program at the New England School of Homeopathy.

Her subsequent career as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner has included ICU nursing, psychiatric nursing, OB/GYN nursing, “Management of Aggressive Behavior” training for hospital staff, and two years in the Internal Medicine office at Waldo County General Hospital. Her personal practice includes 30 years of yoga practice, and is deeply influenced by the time she has spent at Gurudev Siddha Peeth ashram in Ganeshpuri, India.

Alicia combines her spiritual practice, her western medical training and her studies of herbalism, yoga, nutrition and homeopathy to provide a broad range of treatment options for her patients. She believes that optimal health is an expression of the complex interplay between the physical and chemical, mental, emotional and even spiritual aspects of our life w hich should be delivered according to the beliefs and preferences of her patients.
