Forum on Climate Grief

December 1, 2019 5:00 pm

Reports of anxiety and despair associated with the climate crisis are on the rise. People all over the world are experiencing a range of difficult emotions as they deal with both chronic and acute stress related to climate change. Psychologists and other mental health professionals have begun to see climate grief as an important component of their work.

The purpose of this forum is to provide a forum where people can explore their feelings about the climate crisis, learn strategies to cope with these sometimes overwhelming emotions and build resilience and community so that we all have the energy and support needed to combat this crisis.

This is not an educational seminar on the science of climate change. This is also not a debate on the reality of the climate crisis. This is a discussion about the psychological phenomena associated with climate change and how to best navigate this challenging time.

The forum is appropriate for adults and older teens, and is free and open to the public. For more information please call Barbara Davis, LCSW at 207-706-6485 or email [email protected]
