About Deborah Keene — C.A.P., R.Y.T.
Deborah’s love for the natural world and holistic health began with making “kitchen ingredient” facials at the age of 15. She became a Yoga Teacher in the early 1980s when she realized her practice was helping her overcome struggles with anxiety, low self-esteem, digestive issues and sleep problems. She was introduced to Ayurveda and since then has dedicated her life to the studies and practices of India’s healing systems. She remains committed to sharing what she has learned along the way and helping others realize their beauty within so they can feel the joy and ease of their birthright.
She is a graduate of the Kripalu School of Ayurveda and a Certified Ayurvedic Consultant, a Certified Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist and a RYT500 Yoga Teacher. She has been conducting classes and workshops and has consulted on an individual basis for more than 30 years. She appeared in the April 2000 issue of National Geographic and was chosen to be profiled in the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health Spring 2010 catalog.
Deborah is the owner and founder of the Ayurveda Yoga Center located in Liberty, Maine. She lives in a beautiful place surrounded by nature with children and grandchildren living nearby. She loves spending time with family, friends, and her horse, Beau, as well as gardening, dancing, hiking, her work, and all things horses.
